Our Take

On the Way to the Wedding closes out the Bridgerton series with Gregory, the second-youngest sibling and the most romantic of the bunch. Gregory believes wholeheartedly in love at first sight — a belief that leads him astray when he falls for the wrong woman. Lucy Abernathy, practical and overlooked, is the one who truly understands him, but she's trapped in an engagement she doesn't want. Quinn plays with the idea of what love really looks like versus what we think it should look like. The book won the Romance Writers of America RITA Award in 2007, and it's a fitting conclusion to the series — warm, funny, and ultimately about finding love where you least expect it. The Bridgerton family dynamics are at their best here, with all the siblings making appearances.
